Keep Our Water Clean; Don't Litter

Often I notice storm drains clogged with plastic bottles and aluminum cans, paper, styrofoam and lots of cigarette butts. Wastes should not go into storm drains because the drains empty into our rivers where we get our drinking water. It is illegal and environmentally not correct to pour paint, oil, car washing soaps, wax, etc. into storm drains.

Wildlife, such as the Nashville crayfish, is in danger from the pollutants we throw into storm drains. 

Whenever you see a storm drain, notice the litter. That trash is going into your water.
